TRICKS
Chincoteague Minnow and I discovered trick training from a book called "Trickonometry" by Carole Fletcher. As we mastered the skills in the first book of the series it left us both wanting more. We soon discovered clicker training, which helped with the accuracy of signals and cues between both of us. I like to say that Minnow learned his tricks from a combination of methods. I take inspiration from many different sources for trick training and I have tailored these methods to best suite each pony that I train.
Sources of Inspiration :
- Parelli Method
- "Trickonometry" by Carole Fletcher
- Clicker Training
- Imagine A Horse Training Methods
Minnow is my first "trick pony" and I am grateful that we were able to discover trick training together. Trick training is a building block of communication for all equestrian disciplines, without it my ponies and I would not be the team that we are today!
Minnow looks forward to helping trick train the newest members to PonyPaintings.com, Chesapeake Lightning and Chesapeake Boomerang.
