CHESAPEAKE LIGHTNING
"Blitz" was born on June 13, 2002 at 1000 Welcomes Farm in Chapel Hill, NC. His parents were island bred Chincoteague Ponies (Sire - Chesapeake Powhattan's Promise / Dam - Tidewater Fable). At the age of 3 Blitz was auctioned off at the Virginia Sport Horse Auction and went to live at Quiet Creek Farm in Westminster, MD.
When Chincoteague Minnow was diagnosed with ringbone and pronounced unrideable I began to search for another Chincoteague pony. I had fallen in love with the breed and if I was going to have to find another mount I wanted it to be a Chincoteague. When I came across Blitz's ad somehow I knew he was supposed to be a part of my life.
The moment I laid eyes on Blitz I knew it was meant to be. His adorable personality and stunning looks made me fall in love instantly. While Blitz was not the mounted games pony I had hoped for (his laid back attitude and calm de miner made him not suitable as a speedy games pony) he has proven to be a bombproof pony that anyone can ride. Currently he is being ridden by my mom who has fallen in love with this amazing pony.
Blitz is an extremely fast learner and has accomplished many tricks in mere minutes. He is still in training and we are anxiously awaiting his first painting.
